After welcoming baby Archie Mountbatten-Windsor a month and a half ago, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are settling into life as new parents. Aside from an appearance at Trooping the Colour, the two have kept private at Frogmore Cottage; and now, with a new addition. According to Harper's Bazaar, the Sussexes have hired a nanny for extra help ahead of their busy summer and fall schedules. Here's everything we know so far.
Her identity is a secret.
There are no details on exactly who the nanny is, and Meghan and Harry would like to keep it that way. According to royal reporter Omid Scobie, the Sussexes are "hoping to keep personal details of the new staff member private," though it was revealed that she's female and British-born. (This contradicts earlier reports that Meghan was looking for an American nanny for Archie.)
Her schedule is not 24/7.
Meghan and Harry have things covered on the weekends. Archie's nanny only works weekdays and is not permanently based in Frogmore cottage.
She signed an "extensive" non-disclosure agreement.
According to Entertainment Tonight, the nanny had to sign an NDA after being hired by the Sussexes. "I've heard from very reliable sources that the new nanny who has been appointed by the Sussexes has had to sign quite an extensive non-disclosure agreement," royal expert Katie Nicholl told the outlet.
She may join the Sussexes on their trip to Africa.
The couple are set to visit Africa in October and Bazaar reports that it's increasingly likely Archie will be joining his parents. In fact, Meghan also plans to bring Archie to her hometown of Los Angeles. According to Us Weekly, "For Meghan, it’s just as important for Archie to learn about her family history as it is for him to learn about his royal ancestors, so she plans to go on a trip to L.A. with him once she’s comfortable taking him on a plane," a royal source said. An extra set of hands will definitely be helpful while traveling.
Her identity will be revealed sooner or later.
Despite Meghan and Harry's wishes to keep her identity secret, Archie's nanny will be revealed at some point. In 2014, Prince William and Kate Middleton hired Norland College graduate Maria Borrallo as their live-in nanny. Borrallo is frequently spotted at family outings and was most recently seen at Trooping the Colour last week.
