The day has come: Gigi Hadid has returned from maternity leave to strut, once more, down the runway. Making her catwalk return on Friday, the 25-year-old walked for Versace's AW21 show alongside her sister Bella Hadid, and what a return it was. The new mom looked fierce, holding a red bag teamed with a black overcoat and chunky platform heeled boots.
Meanwhile, Bella Hadid rocked long dark brown hair, a black bandana, and bold eyeliner, as well as a cute fuchsia mini dress.
Despite being shown a few days after Milan Fashion Week, Versace remains part of Camera della Moda. "Fashion is an art and sometimes it has to work outside the usual path to fully blossom," Donatella Versace said of the choice.
The Hadid sisters were seen in Milan a few days ago to film the 10-minute extravaganza, which sees the supermodels strut through a maze-like structure.
The AW21 collection included some of Versace's classic details, including chainmail mini dresses, electric hues, and of course, plenty of gold hardware. The older Hadid teased her catwalk comeback on her Instagram stories on Thursday, sharing the Versace show details with the caption: "Tomorrow (my first show 'back'!)"
She also shared a picture of herself walking the AW20 Chanel runway, wearing adorable polkadot tights and cropped shorts.
The Palestinian-Dutch-American model found out she was pregnant the day before the Tom Ford AW20 show, which took place on February 7, 2020, and later revealed on a Twitter thread how she found out, and what fashion month was like while newly pregnant.
'I found out the day before the Tom Ford show 🤯 I was so nauseous backstage 😅 but I learned I could kinda control it if I continuously ate, so my mom would pack me snacks before each show 🥖 🧀 bless, [sic]' Hadid wrote.
'But during fashion month in Europe it was hard to find bagels so I ate mostly bread & Dutch cheese (except for in London, Taylor gave me bagels). Backstage at Burberry was the hardest day with the nausea, I remember. [sic]'

While the Versace show marks her return to the runway, Hadid has already been busy fulfilling other modeling obligations since giving birth to her and Zayn Malik's daughter Khai—namely working with Maybelline, for which she is an ambassador.
