File this pumpkin spice variation under "sounds gross, must try." Beginning Sept. 22—the first official day of fall—Villa Italian Kitchen is serving Pumpkin Spice Pizza by the slice at its 200+ locations across the country.
For better or worse, the pizza doesn't wimp out—it really does combine pumpkin pie flavors and pizza. It starts with Villa's homemade dough, has a layer of pumpkin pie filling for sauce, and is then topped with whole-milk mozzarella. In case you weren't quite sure if that's pumpkin you're tasting, extra dollops of filling are added to the top after your pie is baked.

We've seen homemade versions (opens in new tab) before, but this seems to be the first one available to the masses. And while it sounds adventurous at best, Villa Italian Kitchen thinks you'll love it.
"We are confident that this seasonal twist on our beloved cheese pizza will be a hit with all of our pumpkin spice loving (opens in new tab) guests this fall," Director of Communications Mimi Wunderlich said in a press release.
The pizza will be available while supplies last and retails for $4.09 a slice, though prices may vary by location. It might only be enjoyable to the truest of pumpkin spice fans (we haven't tried it yet, to be fair), but the price point definitely makes it tempting to try.
If you're looking for a Villa Italian location, most of them are in shopping center food courts (opens in new tab); you can find a full list here (opens in new tab).
