December is here, and you know what that means: Tis the season to celebrate! (With holiday party, after holiday party, after holiday party...) If you're in a constant state of worrying over what to wear, look to Austin-based personal style blogger Jessi Afshin of The Darling Detail for inspiration. Here's what she's planning on wearing this holiday season for every occasion—from the glitziest cocktail parties to a cozy evening entertaining the girls at your place.

Cocktails al Fresco

Because in Texas, you can do that in the middle of the winter. A sleek little slip dress topped with a luxe cashmere wrap looks sweet in neutral silver and cream. Pick your jewelry and accessories to match the glass of champagne you'll be holding all night—"I love adding a touch of metallic to holiday looks," Afshin says. "I chose a necklace that was simple but stunning. Add in dainty pearl earrings and silver bangles, and you've got an outfit that speaks for itself."

Charity Gala

Give that LBD a night off—crimson red is the best way to channel your holiday cheer for a formal event. "A show-stopping red dress is my holiday soirée go-to," Afshin says. "It's the most classic seasonal staple and always a showstopper." A bold look like this needs a touch of glimmer and sparkle—and don't be afraid to mix metals. "[14k] Gold and silver are the perfect pairing for adding that extra something-something."

Holiday Happy Hour

An oversized chunky sweater gets a chic upgrade when paired with a knit pencil skirt—perfect for a quick desk-to-drinks costume change. "When it comes to grabbing cocktails after work, comfort comes first," Afshin says. But don't forget the festive flair! "I chose a long silver pendant necklace so it would stand out against the white of the sweater—and chic pearl studs and a pearl ring pull the whole look together."

A Reunion Dinner Party

A simple sheath dress with a touch of dramatic flair is perfect for sit-down dinners with your squad. "Bell sleeves are a classic, elegant embellishment, while still keeping things simple and minimalistic," Afshin says. Silver or gold jewelry both work well with monochrome black—"I chose silver, which definitely pops against the black—and the little red charms work well with my lip color (and shoes!) for an extra-festive touch."

Entertaining at Your Place

A tunic-length knit worn with cropped dark denim is cozy enough for an evening at home, but festive enough to be the ultimate hostess outfit. "Off-the-shoulder is a sexy silhouette that's still classy and conservative," Afshin says. Note: A casual outfit like this is a great opportunity to amp up your jewelry picks—"I chose to wrap the pendant chain for perfect placement at my neckline," Afshin says. "And I love stacking bracelets and rings with this look."
