Aiming to get into the nail art game, but a bit hestitant about diving right in to the crazy appliqués and show-stopping patterns? Meet this office-appropriate gateway mani! Our favorite nail guru Fleury Rose shows us step-by-step how to get this easy and understated look.
Like any good mani, this nail art starts with a good base coat, followed by the colored polish of your choice. This groovy blue shade, Cameo by Illamasqua, was applied with two coats — just enough to give the color a perfectly opaque look.
The next step is choosing five accent nails to highlight — three on one hand, two on the other — or any other combination that piques your interest. With a thin pointed brush (found in any beauty supply store), start halfway on the left side of your nail and draw downward to halfway up the right side of the nail with your accent polish — we used Swinger by Illamasqua. Repeat on the remainder of your accent nails.
Continue using the brush to gently and slowly drag the accent polish up the sides of each accent nail, making a complete "U" shape.
The last step is to complete the circle, painting the accent polish in equal thickness across the top of each nail.
Finally, layer a glossy topcoat onto each nail, and you're done! Be prepared for some serious office envy with this subtle, sophisticated nail art.
