If you were a teen in the '90s, chances are you owned a copy of Bobbi Brown Beauty, AKA the bible of makeup. In the '00s, you may have spent your time combing through Bobbi Brown Beauty Evolution. And, if you're somehow living in the future, you probably own the forthcoming Bobbi Brown Beauty from the Inside Out. Such is the lasting legacy of Bobbi Brown—which is why it's *truly* shocking that the legendary makeup artist and natural beauty proponent is stepping away from her eponymous brand.
After 25 years as a veritable beauty guru, Brown has announced that she will leave her company (Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, Estée Lauder Companies, Inc.) and start a new yet-to-be-disclosed endeavor.
According to Brown, it was the 25th anniversary of her business that "made me realize it was time to start a new chapter and move on to new ventures." In a statement, she continues:
"I am thankful for the extraordinary people that I've had the privilege to work with over the years and proud of the creative endeavors and innovative products we've created together," Brown said, "and the Lauder family for the many opportunities they gave me."
The iconic MUA will reportedly reveal details of her "new chapter" in 2017, but it's worth noting that she's said to have a non-compete clause with Estée Lauder.
