Laverne Cox became the first transgender person ever nominated for an Emmy, for her portrayal of Sophia on Orange Is the New Black . Congratulations, Laverne!
Cox's castmates Uzo Aduba, Kate Mulgrew, Taylor Schilling, and Natasha Lyonne also received acting nominations, and the show as a whole garnered a nod for Best Comedy Series. Basically, the ladies of Litchfield are killing it.
