After a slew of very public breakups including A-Listers John Mayer, Jake Gyllenhaal, and most recently Harry Styles, Taylor Swift has decided to shift her priorities. "I used to be fascinated by romance," Swift explains in an interview with People. "Now I'm more realistic." She continues, "The last couple of years have been about defining life on my own terms: being on my own, prioritizing my girlfriends, my family, and my music above everything else and trying things I never thought I'd try. It's a really liberating and freeing time."
This declaration, coming off the heels of a brand new, decidedly un-country single release, makes total sense. In the past, Swift's career had been defined by heartbreak ballads and juicy relationship details. Now, she wants to shake off her boy-crazy reputation and even admits, "The idea of a date gives me a partial panic attack! It includes 40 paparazzi cameras shooting through windows at us, and that's not relaxing for alluring for me. That makes me want to crawl under the couch and hide! I'm fine! I have two cats. That's all I need." You go girl, we love our cats too.
