Update, 12/23: It's slightly more official now—a friend of Madden's has confirmed the pair's engagement, although reps for the couple are still keeping mum. People reports that, before popping the question "a few nights ago," the 35-year-old musician spent time with Diaz's family in Florida and asked her mother for her blessing. (Awwwww.) Watch this space for more Camji—or is it Benmeron?—developments as they come in.
Update, 12/19: Could this be it? Earlier this week, Diaz was spotted wearing a suspiciously shiny band on that finger for a talk-show appearance in London and again arriving at JFK airport. See a pic below, and stay tuned for more updates.
Congratulations are in order for Cameron Diaz: Us Weekly reports that after just seven months of dating, the actress and boyfriend Benji Madden (of Good Charlotte, yes) are engaged. ("Multiple sources" confirmed to the mag the couple has made it official.)
This also means Diaz and Nicole Richie will now be sisters-in-law, since Richie's husband Joel is Benji Madden's twin, but maybe that was all part of Richie's master plan, since she was the one who set them up in the first place. This also means Diaz will be an aunt to their kids, Harlow and Sparrow. We'd be very interested to get a glimpse of those family gatherings...and since Diaz and Richie are pals and, ya know, Richie is the happy couple's matchmaker, that proooobably earns Richie a slot in the bridal party, no? It should only be a matter of time before we find out...
Congratulations, and we can't wait to get a peek at the ring!
