James Corden, fresh off hosting the Tonys Sunday, delivered some more excitement during yesterday's Late Late Show: More carpool karaoke, this time with the Red Hot Chili Peppers (Anthony Kiedis, Flea, Chad Smith, and Josh Klinghoffer) in a particularly spring-break-gone-wild installment.
Sure, the group sang their best songs—"Californication," "Under the Bridge," and "The Zephyr Song"—plus a little musical theater ("I never ever thought that we'd finish a Red Hot Chili Peppers song and then go right into the musical of Oliver!" James quipped). But they also stopped at a random person's lawn to have a wrestling match:
Then stripped off their shirts in the car because "it seems normal, it seems natural. I feel a bit encumbered [wearing a shirt,]" Anthony told James.
Basically, come for the music, stay for the antics (including Anthony's story of what happened when Cher babysat him, at the 12:26 mark). Because as James told the group, "I always knew that this would be like, a fun part of my life to be in a car with you. It wasn't up for debate that it would be fun. But I never expected it to be as fun as it has be. People say don't meet your heroes, but I don't think they ever met the Red Hot Chili Peppers."
