2016 is like a montage of the news footage you see at the beginning of a post-apocalyptic movie explaining how the world was ruined. Between the clown apocalypse, and an actual clown winning the presidential election, we've all been wondering if the end is nigh.

So here's some more weird news to your 2016 recap, just in time for Christmas...

Paris Hilton has launched a new beauty collection with none other than budget brand Lidl.

Yep, this is real. This is happening.

The hotel heiress has teamed up with the German supermarket chain to launch a line of rose gold and black hair styling products including hairdryers, straighteners, curlers and brushes.

The most expensive items in the socialite's collection are the ceramic Wave Curlers and Rotating Hot Air Stylers, both priced at around $20, while the cheapest items—the hairbrushes— clock in at just about $2.50.

Unveiling the line on Twitter, the 35-year-old, who is worth an estimated $100 million, wrote: "I'm excited to share my new collection from @lidl with you! Be the first to get it: @lidl #HereComesParis #Hair #BTS #Blonde #Beauty"

Here's hoping that velour tracksuits àla The Simple Life will be part of her next launch.
