Kim Kardashian Defends Dressing North West in a Corset

It's not what it seems.

Kim Kardashian has come under fire after dressing her four-year-old daughter in what looked like a corset. North West was seen in New York wearing an orange slip dress with what appeared to be an embroidered waist cincher over the top.

Social media users consequently described the ensemble as "inappropriate" given the child's age. However, the reality television star says all was not as it seemed—apparently the corset was just a piece of fabric that sat on the top of the dress.

In a Twitter video, Kardashian showed the dress from all angles: "This dress I didn't design, but I actually bought is not a corset," she said. "It's just fabric on the front that looks like a corset. I think it's really cute...It's just fabric, people—it's not a real corset."

So calm down, folks: Kardashian does not dress her four-year-old in a corset—she'd rather wear them herself.
