Gigi Hadid Breaks Her Silence and Confirms Her Pregnancy in First Interview

Gigi Hadid has personally confirmed reports she's expecting her first child with Zayn Malik. The model appeared on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon remotely and told the host that yes, she's pregnant when he congratulated her.

"Thank you so much!" she said. "Obviously, you know, we wish we could’ve announced it on our own terms, but we’re very excited and happy and grateful for everyone’s well wishes and support so."

Malik hasn't posted anything on his Instagram yet. Hadid's interview comes two days after multiple outlets reported Hadid was pregnant with her first baby. Entertainment Tonight was told by a source that Hadid had been trying to keep the news quiet initially.

"Gigi and Zayn are expecting their first child together and the couple is very excited!" the outlet's source said. "Gigi has kept the secret close to her family and friends for a while as she’s only a few months along. Once Gigi and Zayn got back together at the end of last year it was like they never skipped a beat and knew what they had was special. The couple and their families are overjoyed."

TMZ reported on April 28 that Hadid was about 20 weeks at that point and is expecting a baby girl.

Hadid spoke about her desire to have children in February this year. During an interview with i-D magazine, the model spoke about her future ambitions in the fashion industry. Hadid said, "I think that as I get older... well one day I’ll start a family and I don’t know if I will always be modeling. I love the creative side of fashion, it’s so fulfilling. The people I work with make me so happy, I’m so lucky to be around them. But who knows? Maybe I’ll take up full time cooking!"
