Warning: This article contains spoilers for Game of Thrones.
Sunday night's season finale of Game of Thrones featured lots of twists and turns—and seemingly, lots of characters suddenly time-traveling around the world. Varys appears in Dorne in one scene, and then is on a ship with Daenerys in another. And Arya, soon after leaving Braavos, is conveniently around to kill Walder Frey in Westeros.
So what gives? Is Melisandre suddenly helping people teleport? Bryan Cogman, a producer and writer on Game of Thrones, explained what happened on Twitter Monday.
Essentially, the show is getting rid of what used to be an obstacle when staying true to the books: the seemingly endless trudges in the woods to get from one destination to the other. And it finally explains, once and for all, that Littlefinger doesn't use a jetpack to travel long distances so quickly.
