One mom did exactly that, sending a clear message that no matter where you are, it's important to do what's best for your kids—and to do it with pride. A photo of her was posted in the Facebook group Breastfeeding Mama Talk.
"This mama is stationed in Germany," the post reads. "She says she is not advocating for the belief of the Army, just her personal experience. 'Anytime, anywhere, anyway, baby boy was hungry! I'm active duty and thought I would be scared to breastfeed publicly in uniform, but this is my first time and I'm still confident and unafraid. People have been great about it too! Not a single negative comment. I am a full-time working mom that proudly breastfeeds and I am fortunate to be able to pump enough during my work day to provide my son enough fresh bottles for the following day at daycare.'"
Unfortunately, moms who breastfeed their kids in public are often forced to deal with people who shame them, but hopefully that's beginning to change as more women and more women share photos of themselves breastfeeding in all sorts of places.
