Just when this post-holiday Hump Day was starting to get us down, an uplifting tearjerker of a post appeared on our Google Buzz: has compiled a list of awesomely moving videos of deaf people hearing for the first time after having cochlear implants activated. A cochlear implant is a complex device that helps create a sense of sound for those who can't hear — unlike hearing aids, which simply amplify sounds so that damaged ears can detect them, these implants actually help sounds go straight past damaged parts of the ear and stimulate the auditory nerve directly. Anyway, enough with the technical stuff — here's our favorite video, of the ridiculously adorable Solomon.
