Prepare for dreamy overload as Benjamin Millepied (director of the Paris Opera Ballet and husband to Natalie Portman) crafts the ultimate Paris fantasy for Nowness—a perfect pas de deux running over the city's rooftops. The project showcases dancers Leonore Baulac and Alistair Madin at the Palais Garnier, the ballet company's home since 1875, in a whole new light.
The video marks Millepied's first season leading the company, where pushing the envelope creatively is clearly on his mind. "I will bring in visual artists, filmmakers, cartoonists and fashion designers to create the visual language of our new productions. I am interested in making sure we are not only dancing the best ballets that exist but also pushing ballet forward with the creation of new works which make use of the classical vocabulary and feel relevant to our time," he said.
