New Diverse Emojis Have Finally Arrived

Give us *all* the skin tones.

Update, 4/8:

The updates are here! Yes, iOS 8.3 is rolling out today, and with it will come 300 new types of racially diverse emoji. *all the clap emojis*

Original 2/24: Your iPhone is about to get the United Colors of Benetton treatment. In the newest update, users will finally be able to select skin tones for their emojis.

The updates (OS X 10.10.3 and iOS 8.3) have been shared with developers in beta mode, meaning after they get tested and approved they'll be sent out to your phones and you'll soon have no recollection of the way things used to look (until some website does a nostalgic nod to "old" times, titled "10 things that make us nostalgic for 2015" or some other too-recent-to-count throwback).

According to TheNextWeb, flags have also gotten the upgrade, with a larger selection to choose from.

Now if only they'd get started on emojis we really need, like tacos.
