You can stop losing sleep over it now, because hilarious new Comedy Central show Another Period—which is basically a mashup of Downton Abbey and Keeping Up with the Kardashians—has your answer. And it's...um...complicated?

In a totally normal ritual, couples perform a fertility dance together, get intentionally knocked unconscious, copulate in front of an attentive staff, etc. etc. You know, the yoosh.
