Since before the 2016 election, hundreds of women have been boycotting Ivanka Trump's fashion brand as a way of protesting her father, president-elect Donald Trump. And apparently, people have no intentions of stopping this boycott anytime soon.
As Yahoo Style recently noticed, a pair of Ivanka Trump brand boots have recently been flooded with some pretty political (and shady) Amazon reviews—and there's a good reason why.
"I feel particularly betrayed by Ivanka as a Trump surrogate," reviewer Laurel Wells Thompson told the website. "I expect more from a fellow woman and working mother. When I first saw the boots review, Nancy Sinatra's tune 'These Boots Are Made for Walking' immediately popped into my head. Boots for stomping on the patriarchy! I am pretty sure Ivanka is beyond hope, but it would be nice if potential boot-buyers were made aware of their problematic purchase."
Here are just 10 of the sassiest one-star reviews that the boots have received so far. You can also purchase the boots for yourself right here.
"These boots are perfectly designed to trample on fellow Americans' Civil Rights Day or Night. Your legs will be enclosed in a tight,
"These are really really restrictive and tight - no wiggle room for any kind of freedom of thought. Can you get sued for writing a bad review of a product? Anyway, these boots might fit a person that is male, straight, white and Christian but if you don't fit all these criteria, they are NOT the boots for you! They are made in a sweatshop by child labor in a foreign country because that's called being smart. I heard they are going to move manufacturing to Taiwan, which may make them better but who knows. Everyone keeps telling me to wait and see. They are certainly not comfortable enough to stand in for four years."
"These boots were made for walking your a** right back to the 19th century."
"I was feeling way over confident and I needed to be put in my place. These ill-fitting boots are a perfect reminder that I should be seen, admired for my womanly 'virtues,' rated in a scale from 1-10, and occasionally grabbed by my kitty cat. With these boots I feel like I am closer to the beautiful glass ceilings that allow natural light in to our offices - but certainly not close enough to break them."
"Now that hell has frozen over and global warming is a hoax, I really need a good pair of boots!! Ugh, what a shame. I guess I'll have to keep looking..."
"Perfect boot for populist demagogues."
"Well...when I first saw these boots, I really wanted to grab them by the...tops. But, it turns out that I am not the intended demographic. You see I'm...MEXICAN. And these boots were clearly intended to be polished by my people, not worn by them. But the Sweedish exchange student down the street fits them perfectly."
"Very narrow boots; go well with people with a narrow-minded outlook on life and actively the validity of people of diverse backgrounds from being worthy of civil rights. Because they are made of man-made materials, very difficult to breathe in. Due to the escalation of climate change they are linked to, in all likelihood the wearer will not be able to breathe at all within one generation. They are the product of pure greed, which doesn't make any sense because even the wealthiest individuals' children and children will die if their father's and father's father's actions led to a world that cannot support human life, which is what is happening as we speak. Do not buy, for the good of the country or for the good of your children."
"The fit was exactly as I expected, overly tight and restrictive in forward progressive movement. In fact, I decided to just take them off and head back to the kitchen- where these boots decided I belonged. Notwithstanding, my wine was delicious as I intend to drink the next four years away."
"These boots are the perfect accent for your Brownshirt outfit. You can trample on the rights and opportunities of your fellow citizens, and look ever so stylish doing it. If you've been wondering what to wear while turning our once great democracy into a fascist state, wonder no more!"
