The Fashion Insider Wishlist from Nordstrom's New Spring Drop
From gorgeous satin slip skirts to airy button-downs.

At the beginning of each spring season, I often rummage through my closet to identify which clothes and accessories no longer serve me. My rule of thumb? If I haven't worn an item in over a year, it goes straight into the donation pile. This year, I went overboard with my spring cleaning agenda, and I'm now left with bare hangers and empty drawers. So, I've refilled my closet space with spring staples that will fit perfectly into my capsule wardrobe. I turned to Nordstrom's new arrivals section on a time-sensitive fashion mission.
I can always count on Nordstrom to provide a curated edit of the classics I want to keep. While scrolling through the retailer's exciting selection of fresh products, I began feverishly adding countless items to my online shopping cart. The next thing I knew, I had amassed a variety of essentials that I'll be styling into my spring work outfits—from sharp white button-downs to structured denim pants to springy neutral-toned footwear.
If you're anything like me, and perfecting your capsule wardrobe is high on your priority list, you've come to the right place. Nordstrom's new arrivals are plentiful—I'm talking hundreds of products.
Ahead, I've hand-selected 21 investment-worthy finds, some that have been on my wishlist, that will carry you through this spring season and beyond. My fashion sixth sense tells me that these new pieces will sell out quickly, so do yourself a favor and get a head start.
This spring, I’m looking to refine my workwear wardrobe, so I’ve turned my attention toward button-up suit vests. Avec Les Filles’ tweed top immediately caught my eye because of the fitted shape and unique sense of texture. This tailored piece will undoubtedly become an office-appropriate staple I’ll wear repeatedly.
Of all the patterns that exist out there, stripes are by far my favorite. There’s something so inherently classic and simple about a sequence of contrasting lines. To feed my stripes obsession, I’ll be throwing this cozy cotton cardigan over my shoulders.
Every spring wardrobe needs at least one white dress, perhaps even a few. FARM Rio’s breezy cotton sundress features gorgeous broderie-anglaise detailing that sets it apart from the rest. Style this pretty piece with a pair of strappy sandals for an elevated feel.
Baggy denim silhouettes are all the rage these days, and for good reasons. Who doesn’t love a roomy construction that allows for ample movement? I'll be testing the waters of this trend with Paige's wide-leg Sasha jeans.
According to style experts, pointed-toe mules are trending this spring. Seen on the Spring 2024 runways of Gucci and Saint Laurent, the rise in popularity of this style is not much of a surprise. For the purpose of practicality, opt for neutral-toned mules that will pair well with a variety of looks.
I often consider myself more of an oversized blazer kind of gal (I prefer to have enough room to layer my clothing). That said, this fitted blazer from L’Agence might make me reconsider my allegiance toward spacious silhouettes. The padded shoulders and gold buttons on this blazer give a slight nod to vintage dressing, and I’m very much here for it.
A few weeks ago, I saw my friend wearing Reformation’s Lainey dress and she fully convinced me that this piece deserves a prime spot in my closet. I love the peekaboo sweetheart neckline that puts a fun twist on a typical LBD.
If there’s one thing to know about me, it’s that I lug around a ton of essentials everywhere I go. Since my trusty tote recently started fraying, I’m on the hunt for a replacement. I've decided on Naghedi’s St. Barths tote (which will hold my water bottle, laptop, wallet, cosmetic essentials, and more).
This high neck top by Ted Baker flaunts subtle drapery for an effortlessly luxe feel. For a daytime outing, style this piece with a slip skirt and a pair of chic sandals to match.
I can’t stop talking about glacial blue. It’s one of the top trending colors this spring, and I’m eager to see what the hype is about. So, when I noticed Theory’s Good Strappy dress, I swiftly added this stunning piece to my shopping cart.
Yes, I plan to wear Rebecca Minkoff's black jacket this spring season. Although cheery pastel shades are highly encouraged during the warmer months, there’s nothing wrong with leaning into darker hues. Plus, this jacket will provide a lightweight layer when spring temperatures drop.
As we inch further into shorts season, I’ll be taking Madewell’s pull-on bottoms for a spin. Crafted with 100% linen, I know these airy shorts will keep me cool during blazing hot days, especially as we transition out of spring and into summer.
I’m in the process of planning a tropical vacation this spring, which means that I have a running list of clothes and accessories to buy. Jeffrey Campbell’s woven raffia-like mules are at the top of my docket. I plan to style these cozy shoes with chic trousers and a fitted tank top
My closet is currently filled with plenty of trendy bikinis—there’s no shortage there. But what I don’t own is a timeless swimsuit that I can rely on for years to come. Lucky for me, I just came across Hunza G’s black one-piece.
Although the peplum silhouette of Sam Edelman's Doria top takes center stage, there are plenty of other design elements that deserve just as much attention. (Most notably, the stitched square neckline, charming ribbon trim, and embroidered eyelets.)
As a dedicated Reiss shopper, I can attest to the fact that their trousers are designed to perfection. Do yourself a favor and experience the comfortable waistband and semi-stretchy fabric for yourself. Once you slip into a pair of pants from the brand, you'll never look back.
Do I already own five white button-downs? Yes. Am I looking to expand my cherished collection? You bet! Favorite Daughter’s oversized top is my next purchase because I'm striving for versatility. After all, there’s no such thing as owning too many white button-downs.
A denim maxi skirt that sweeps the floor with each step? Yes please! As for styling, I’ll take notes from Jennifer Lawrence by pairing this piece with a classic white T-shirt, a lengthy trench coat, and ballet flats.
What’s old is inevitably new again. I have vivid memories of wearing my favorite fisherman sandals as a kid, and now as a twenty-something, they’ve officially become my go-to pair of spring shoes.
