MC Beauty Haul #1
Hi I'm Yeng.
And I'm Lizzie.
And we are just hanging out in the Marie Claire Beauty Closet, and we want to show you some of our favorite things that came in this week.
Yeah. So something that's actually available right now. I just met with the people from Sephora this afternoon, and these are DIY Mix Nails that are at Sephora by OPI and they last for 1 or 2 days. You can put them on at home.
I'm obsessed with the Nautical.
You have a new nails.
But they come in all sorts of fun designs like these.
And it really only takes--
I like Nautical too.
And it's fun because, you know, you normally have to go to a salon to get a mixed manicure, but here you can do them at home and it lasts 1 or 2 days.
Okay. And it only takes like 5 minutes to put on, right?
Okay. I'm obsessed with these new colors from Chanel for fall, especially this one. I tend to sway away from anything with a shimmer. It looks like it has the shimmer on in the bottle, but when you put it on, it's like a flat perfect like violety gray. This is something, whenever I put a nail polish on my hands, they'll look at me like I'm crazy, but at photo shoots, manicurist do this all the time because if they got color on or they just wanna see how a color looks against your skin, it's great to do it on your hand so you don't have to ruin your manicure. So, if you're just testing out a color or you have a manicure, this is the great way to do it, but I'm obsessed with these, and I'm generally obsessed with Chanel mailings. I mean this is the book that they have come out with for their fall press info and you can see that they put a lot of money into this 3D--
And there is the hologram--
card in that too.
You're right, the hologram cards. There's this one--
And something else they sent which is often something that they just do for beauty editors or for the press is a special limited edition. So this product, which is actually in Japan, Chanel cotton, which I will immediately steal and put in my own bathroom because who doesn't want a little cotton to protect-- to have their face washed by Chanel.
Notice we're kind of getting in the summer and everyone is trying to recreate that beachy look even if you can't get there. I met with the people from our sessions the other day and they showed me this new curling iron.
It's a crazy-looking curling iron. I mean I don't quite understand how it works.
But it's technically a foreign one, and what it-- this very kind of intense looking apparatus on the top is removable. It helps you train your curls. You can get the perfect spiral, and once you've graduated from that, you can just take it off.
I think you need to demonstrate.
I'll demonstrate. So--
Can you demonstrate with this thing on?
Yeah, yeah. It's a little jazzy. I'm a little varsity with curling irons. So, you hold it, and then you wanna curl away and you just follow that up and then we just let go. So--
And then-- but once you get used to using the taper iron, which is better than just a regular one because it gives you a little bit more of a beachy texture.
And one more thing, you actually met Marc Jacobs this week.
With your Marc Jacobs Bang, which we don't have the extra bottle yet, but where's the perfect--
The perfect sample.
So it's men's?
It's his first men's fragrance in almost over a decade and it's nice and peppery.
Very provocative pictures.
He said he tried shooting out campaign with like a shirt or a jacket and then ultimately it just didn't look as good as--
Of course that happens to me all the time.
He looks great though.
Yeah, and it really smells great. I like the fragrance a lot.
What is the bottle supposed to look like?
It's supposed to look like-- like he was inspired by an artist who uses a lot of car parts and it's like bang, he wanted it to illustrate the sound as well as the motion, so it's kind of like banged in [unknown].
So it's like it speaks to all senses, isn't it?
Great. Well, that's it for now. We'll share some more stuff coming up in the coming weeks.
