10 Luxury Beauty Gifts I Know My 60-Year-Old Mom Would Love
She has expensive taste.
Buying holiday gifts for everyone in my family is hard enough as it is considering the numerous personality types I'm working with, but if there's any person I always find myself especially stumped when shopping for, it's my mom. My 60-year-old mom loves to cook, entertain, and throw dinner parties, so for the last few years, my siblings and I have always settled on her gift being some sort of kitchen gadget.
That's worked for several Christmases, but this year her kitchen is stocked with everything you can think of from a KitchenAid stand mixer (with the attachments we bought two years ago!) to an at-home soda machine (that was last year's gift), so I'm officially declaring it time to switch gears and shop in an entirely new category this time around. Luckily beauty gift-giving is where I shine, and there are a few beauty products I've had my eye on this year that I'm sure my mom would love.
If you're also stumped on what kind of gift to present to a parent, read ahead to see all the beauty goodies I'm buying for my mom this year.
Fine Fragrances
Some people have parents who steal their clothes from time to time—my mom likes to swap fragrances from me, which is why, throughout the year, I always make sure to gift her with some of the classic floral scents she likes. These are just a few that I'm considering throwing in her stocking for Christmas.
This is another floral scent that doesn't quite feel like a floral scent. Lavender and orange blossom are the key notes in this perfume, but they're joined by a warm vanilla to give it a sensual twist. The scent is pretty similar to one that my mom snatched from my at-home fragrance collection a few years ago, so I figure it's right up her alley.
I'm a big fan of Gucci Flora, especially the Gorgeous Orchid scent, but you can never go wrong with having a set of three to choose from.
Body Talk
I can't count on my mom actually use any of the pricey skincare serums and creams I give her (more on that later), but one thing I do know is that she'll always use a body product that'll give her glow, whether it's a moisturizer, a body butter, or a special shower oil.
L'Occitane's almond shower oil always makes me feel like I'm showering at a luxury spa. It has a non-slippery formula that lightly lathers up when it comes in contact with water, and while the scent is great, it doesn't overpower.
Sol de Janeiro's Delicia Drench Shower Oil is one of my favorite body products I've tried this year, and this kit includes a travel-friendly version along with a body butter and perfume mist with the same scent.
Skin Saviors
I've always envied the fact that my mom's skincare routine is zero fuss. She's the type to just throw on a moisturizer in the morning and go, but she's also a lover of gadgets (see: the aforementioned soda machine), and I have a feeling that an LED mask would add just the right amount of high-low energy to her very minimal routine.
Using a red light mask is a great way to treat fine lines, wrinkles, and other signs of aging. This one from Higher Dose is one of the few I've tried that doesn't pull on my face or make me feel like I'm suffocating. It's pricey, of course, but most reviewers who've used it consistently claim to have seen results in as little as a few weeks.
If you want an LED face device that's only targeted to the eye area, this mask is the perfect get. It uses red light to target crow's feet and wrinkles around the eyes while also stimulating collagen production to add some elasticity to the skin.
Candle Crazed
My mom is a certified candle lover, and while we're both suckers for a nice three-wick Bath and Body Works candle, you can't beat a luxury candle that can be pulled out specifically for holiday dinners or other major events.
This candle has a really clean berry scent that's luxurious and comforting at the same time. It can fill an entire room without being too strong, and it lingers long after blowing out the flame.
