The 11 Best Light Coverage Foundations for a Fresh, Healthy Complexion

This is hands down one of the best complexion products I have ever tried, drugstore or otherwise. I’d consider it light-to-medium coverage, buildable, and complete with a glow that makes it look like you just applied a fresh round of skincare.

It truly is a formula that feels weightless on the skin, which I love, and the shade Tan 240 G blends seamlessly into my skin.

With the term “light reflecting” in the name, you know you’ll be in for a treat with this NARS formula. It’s comprised almost entirely of skincare ingredients (they make up an incredible 70 percent of the formula), and there are 40 shades to choose from. Sheer it out, build it up—the beauty of this foundation is truly in its versatility.

Who better to have one of the most perfect foundation formulas on the market than the mother of makeup herself, Dame Pat McGrath? The Skin Fetish formula was one of the first truly luxurious complexion products that tried back in 2019, and it’s been the one to beat ever since. The shade range, the sleek component, the gold detailing—it all creates the most divine experience when using this foundation, and to this day, it’s still one of my favorites.

I know so many professional makeup artists who swear by this product. Not only are there over 40 shades to choose from, but the brand has perfected the undertones to be inclusive of olive and neutral ranges, which is still (unfortunately) extremely rare in the industry. If you specifically have trouble with shade matching, there’s a good chance Dior has the light coverage foundation that will finally suit your needs.

It may be pricey, but I’m telling you right now that this foundation is more than worth the price tag. Stunning packaging aside, it literally feels like I’m applying a moisturizer when I use this product, and it never fails to make my skin shine like I am, too. A combination of skin-loving ingredients like Japanese prickly ash, thyme, and chestnut rose extracts acts as antioxidants that help to firm the skin over time, and it bears repeating that the luminosity that this product provides will make you feel like a movie star; there’s no other way to put it. The shade range absolutely needs some work, but if you find a shade that does work for you, jump on it.
