The Best Lip Masks Heal My Chapped, Dry Lips in the Coldest Winter Weather
You’ll have the softest pout in town.
There are many aspects of my beauty routine that I find to be extremely fun. Swatching through my blush stash to find the perfect shade that captures how I’m feeling. Creating new lip combos just for the heck of it. Even experimenting with unique perfume layering combinations so that I can keep my title as one of the best-smelling people amongst my friends—it’s all my thing. (I totally just made up that accolade, but I like to believe it’s true.) With all this in mind, the one beauty category I don’t mess around with? Lip masks.
Yes, lip masks differ from regular balms because they are usually thicker and more viscous. When you see me walking around with a lip mask, it means New York City is either getting—or has already reached—frigid, Arctic-like temperatures, and the usual products I use just aren't enough anymore. Unfortunately, that time of year has come too quickly in the city, and my fur coats and lip masks are the only things keeping me warm and my skin moisturized.
To me, chapped lips are one of the worst feelings in the world, which is why you will catch me with no less than 15 lip products in my purse at all times. (I just counted, and yes, that number is accurate.) With the freezing weather we've been having in the city this week, my weekly reset has come a bit earlier than usual to make room for all my favorite lip masks that help me brave the cold.
If you’re in a similar situation or just love plump, hydrated, and moisturized lips, I’m sharing the best lip masks to help you get through even the coldest of winters.
As the name suggests, this mask is a thick salve specially formulated for people who deal with cracked, dry lips. Or, to be honest, everyone when the weather drops below 40.
A cult-favorite for a reason, Laneige’s lip sleeping mask is ideal for those who enjoy a fun, fragrant lip treatment. Plus, the tub offers plenty of product.
Every holiday season, I buy one of Tatcha’s lip masks, and it's a tradition I've kept going for five years now. Get in on the fun with this two-pack that is perfect for getting you through the winter with lips that are glossy and plump.
Revive’s Rescue lip mask can only be described in one word: luxurious. Not only does it come with a fabulous spatula to keep everything hygienic, but it also drenches the lips in the most delicious veil of moisture that will remain when you wake up in the morning.
Another underrated brand with a stunning lip mask is Dermelect. This formula is packed with nourishing ingredients like castor and jojoba oil, and the jar contains an impressive amount of product.
Shea butter, avocado, and jojoba oil will wrap your lips in moisture with this beautiful Naturium mask. The subtle color also makes it perfect to complete a full lip combo.
Kiehl’s might be famous for its facial creams, but this lip mask deserves your attention. Mango butter and coconut oil work together to form a cozy, protective layer on the lips that traps moisture and guards against dry winter air.
One of Lawless’s strongest categories is lip products, as seen with their lip glosses (which are some of my favorites) and this lip mask. Thanks to its plumping qualities, there’s a subtle, tingling mint sensation that this formula provides, and I can’t get enough of it.
This is one of the softest lip masks I have ever used. Worn overnight? You’ll wake up to soft, supple lips in the morning.
This lip mask is so good, you’d never believe it’s from a drugstore brand. (But it is, and it’s a great, affordable stocking stuffer.)
Have a tween in your life who loves Drunk Elephant as much as you do? This lip mask would make a great gift that you both can share.
On the more luxe side of the spectrum is Chanel’s Hydra Beauty lip mask, which features the brand’s famed camelia oil, the same flower that is featured throughout the brand’s packaging.
Every skincare obsessive knows and loves the brand PCA Skin. This lip mask lives up to the hype thanks to ingredients like squalane, shea butter, and vitamin E, which leave your lips plump and soft to the touch.
