When Margot Robbie married her British film-maker boyfriend Tom Ackerley, she could have had her pick of couture gowns—having worn everything from Alexander McQueen to Gucci on the red carpet. However, she opted instead to wear her mother's 30-year-old wedding dress.
According to the Australian newspaper The Courier Mail, the 26-year-old had the off-the-shoulder gown, believed to be by Oscar de la Renta, adjusted by the designer Casey Tanswell last week.
"[Tanswell] had been approached by a friend to do the alterations," a source told the publication. "She didn't know it was Margot until she turned up at her home for the fitting."
The low-key ceremony took place on a private estate in Coorabell, Byron Bay. According to reports, Robbie served up a pizza and barbecue-themed menu to her guests, with Coco Pops for dessert.
