For most kids entering college, it’s embarrassing enough to deal with parents tearfully blubbering over you leaving the nest for the first time. But, when your mom is Angelina Jolie, that embarrassment sooner fades as a starstruck student body takes over.

Yesterday, the Maleficent actress dropped off her eldest son, Maddox Jolie-Pitt, at Yonsei University, a campus in South Korea where Maddox will study biochemistry. In multiple videos and photos posted by mesmerized students, Jolie seemingly beams with pride as she walks the campus grounds with Maddox. At one point, she even admits that she’s “trying not to cry.”

Responding to a student’s question on how long she’ll stay in South Korea, Jolie said, “I leave today. Today’s the day I drop him off.” This induced a wave of “awwww”’s from the surrounding students. “I know,” Jolie said, as Maddox bashfully stood next to her. “I’m trying not to cry.”

Later on, Jolie said, “It seems like a great school.”

Although Yonsei University is halfway across the world from the Jolie-Pitt American home base, the family also has a home in Cambodia, making visits from or to Maddox’s five siblings much easier, according to People.

“He’s very close to his siblings,” a source from People said, “and they all hope to visit.”
