Listen to Leighton Meester's New Track 'Heartstrings'

It's decidedly dark.

Leighton Meester may be a blissful newlywed, but her new single 'Heartstrings' an a raw exploration of love lost. Much like she did in her cover of Fleetwood Mac's 'Dreams', Meester shows off her velvety smooth vocal chops with some decidedly dark lyrics: "Tie my heartstrings. I tie my heartstrings off. Had to save my own self from all your evil games."

"Hearstrings' speaks to vibe and encompasses a lot of the themes of the rest of the album," Meester told . "It's been a long time coming and I'm very excited to finally release it."

The lovelorn ballad is the first track off of her debut LP Heartstrings, which will be released on October 28. Considering that Jeff Trott, who's worked with the likes of Stevie Nicks and Sheryl Crow, produced the album, we can't wait to see what else it has in store.
