R&B singer Brandy was hospitalized Friday after she lost consciousness on a plane in Los Angeles, KABC-TV (opens in new tab) reports.

She reportedly had just boarded a Delta flight when she was "unconscious or almost unconscious" at 7 a.m. The plane hadn't left the gate yet, and Delta employees called officers and paramedics to the scene. She had regained consciousness while she was being treated on the jetway, and was taken to the hospital.

"The flight crew of Delta flight 763 from LAX to New York's JFK International Airport returned to the gate, prior to departure, after a customer fell ill on board," a Delta spokesperson told Page Six (opens in new tab) in a statement. "Medical personnel met the flight and transported the customer to a local hospital. Flight 763 departed for New York roughly 45 minutes behind schedule."

According to TMZ (opens in new tab), Brandy is currently in stable condition. She has yet to issue a statement about the incident, and her rep has not responded to requests for comment.

Update, 4:55 p.m: Brandy's team issued the following statement on her Twitter account, noting she had been exhausted from a grueling schedule. She is now at home recovering.
