It's time to start making room on our DVRs again because season 10 of Project Runway is well under way! The 10th anniversary edition kicked off with a major bang Friday night, hosting a live fashion show in the center of New York's Times Square.
At the head of the runway, supermodel-host Heidi Klum had me seeing green. She wowed the crowd in a gorgeous emerald dress lined with sheer black fabric while presenting the first batch of designs by the season's 16 contestants.
The very first design challenge tasked each designer to create two consistent looks—one created independently from home and one stitched together at Parsons—with just a $100 dollars worth of materials. Talk about making it work!
Klum also announced that since this is the 10th season, the competition is sure to be fierce. By the looks of the designs, she wasn't kidding. The pieces ranged from baby-doll frocks to glitzy golden gowns, all judged by familiar panelists—Michael Kors, MC fashion director Nina Garcia, and Klum—as well as guest judges Patricia Field and Parenthood's Lauren Graham.
I can't wait to hear what they had to say about the mini-collections, but we'll have to stay tuned until July 19th for the season premiere on Lifetime to find out who's in and who's out.
