As much as every bride dreams of a couture gown, not every bride's budget stretches to finance such a pricey purchase. Joining the ranks of wedding dress maven Vera Wang, Zac Posen has announced via Instagram (with Wang's blessing) that he'll be designing an affordable line of gowns for the wedding superstore, David's Bridal. The line, dubbed Truly Zac Posen, hits stores and online in February 2014.
The line features six white and ivory styles for $850 to $1350, and five "social occasion" dresses for as little as $195 to $225. While the collection may skimping on the hefty price tags, Posen says it won't be skimping on style. He claims his David's Bridal line will "give the collection a run for its money" and cultivates an aesthetic Posen describes as romantic, glamorous, and strong.
Posen has designed bridal gowns for some notable names, including Coco Rocha and Portia De Rossi, and wanted to make his one-of-a-kind styles accessible for the modern woman: "Over a decade I've been making custom one-of-a-kind bridal pieces for very rare, lucky women that can fit into our very crazy schedule — it's a very personal experience," Posen told E! News. "And I really wanted to translate that into a line that would be at a price point and that could reach a lot of women." If the gowns shown in USAToday's exclusive video are any indication, then brides will be lining up for these gorgeous dresses.
