Rumors surfaced this morning that businessman (and "business, man") Jay Z has been involved in "secret talks" with luxe retailer, Barneys New York, about an undisclosed future collaboration. There are a few potential scenarios that come to mind, such as a speculated baby, Blue Ivy-influenced line, but one theory that's most likely: this year's holiday campaign. The unveiling of Barneys Madison Avenue windows to kick-off the holiday season each year is as inherent to the yule-tide traditions as eggnog and jingle bells, at least to New Yorkers.
A Jay Z-meets-Barneys collaboration would be a much anticipated roll-out come November. The rapper is definitely a man of the moment with Magna Carta Holy Grail landing the top slot on the latest Billboard 200, making it his 13th No. 1 album, and whose Legends of the Summer tour with Justin Timberlake has been selling out. Is a partnership with a high-end department store next? We'll have to wait and see.
