WHAT WE LOVE ABOUT DUBAI: Flying-carpet ski lifts on Ski Dubai's indoor slopes. The global mix—80 percent expats. Dune-bashing in SUVs. Fruit-flavored hookah and mint-tea after meals. Lamborghinis and Porsches on Sheikh Zayed Road. Dubai World Cup, the world's richest horse race. The man-made Palm Islands. When completed this year, the Burj Dubai will be the world's tallest building. Calls to prayer five times a day—even in the mall. Abayas with Swarovski crystals.
