Yesterday, I wrote about the new cosmetic collaboration between MAC and Rodarte that's had the blogosphere abuzz concerning its questionable references to women from Juarez, Mexico. Bloggers petitioned MAC to donate all proceeds from the makeup line to the women, and that's exactly what the company has decided to do. Today, MAC put out a press release saying, "In response to public concern over the limited edition M·A·C Rodarte makeup collection, set to launch in fall 2010, M·A·C will donate all of its global profits from this collection to a newly created initiative to raise awareness and provide on-the-ground support to the women and girls in Juarez. M·A·C and Rodarte are deeply sorry that this makeup collection was so offensive to the people of Mexico and concerned global citizens." And they're going to rename all the products before they hit shelves this fall. With such swift action, are you happy with how MAC handled the situation?
