If you take a close look at this photo, you'd be completely justified in thinking you're looking at Vivien Leigh in her iconic role as Scarlett O'Hara in Gone with the Wind. But, in actuality, it's Annelies Maria Francine, a 17-year-old girl in Belgium with a vivid imagination. Francine is currently in her first year of studying History at the university of Leuven, but dreams of a world in fashion or modeling. To satisfy that passion, she started an Instagram account, in which she transforms into famous Hollywood starlets by choosing the right vintage garments and nailing the hair and makeup.
"I have always loved using makeup and hair to transform myself into other people and movie characters," Francine says. "A year ago I cut my hair into a pixie cut and people started telling me I looked like Audrey Hepburn. I wasn't very familiar with anything old Hollywood related at all, but when I looked her up I fell in love with the elegance of vintage silver-screen glamour!"
While Francine doesn't have any makeup tutorials yet, she is planning on starting a Youtube channel shortly where she will describe how to recreate these vintage looks. Until then, here are some of her stunning photos for inspiration!
