I'm a serial lipstick dater. So many lip products slide onto my desk. Some I double-tap and have all the heart eyes for. Others I ghost and leave on seen. This is #BigLipstickEnergy, an honest breakdown of how I feel about the latest lip launches. Read on for the three lipstick flings I'm keeping in rotation for now. Next week, I'll have a new roster.

BLACK-OWNED BRAND
Badass Icon Matte Lipstick in Tina

UOMA Beauty ulta.com
$24.00

THE DETAILS:

This formula is made with mango butter for a silky texture that nourishes dry lips. You'll forget about it right after you apply it—that's how lightweight it is.

WHY I'M OBSESSED:

I ride-or-die for a quality matte lipstick that doesn't leave my lips high and dry. In just one swipe, this creamy matte formula imparts a bright and bold crimson shade that doesn't move for hours. I love black-owned beauty brands who work twice as hard as their mainstream competitors to make diversity a priority, rather than an option. Uoma Beauty—the world's first Afropolitan beauty brand—embodies that notion. What's even more dope is that each lipstick is named after an iconic black woman, like Diana Ross and Nina Simone. This electric red shade honors soulful rockstar Tina Turner.

$24.00

THE DETAILS:

Sweet almond oil is the key ingredient in this formula, so it's super moisturizing and far from sticky. The reflective light spheres in the formula will leave your lips looking luscious and photogenic. And it's versatile: Apply it wherever for an all-over dreamy glow, or mix it with a bold lip color for a statement lip.

WHY I'M OBSESSED:

This lip highlighter speaks my love language. I'm admittedly extra when it comes to glowing—on every inch of my body—all the time. I've always tapped my fan brush into my highlighter and dusted my cupid's bow; but now, I don't have to, thanks to this unique liquid highlighter made specially for popping lips. Tap it wherever you're seeking a subtle, champagne-like shimmer. My favorite thing to do is swipe it on in the center of my mouth, then top it off with lip balm for an extra hydrated, pouty glow.

Major Steal
All Aglow Lip & Cheek Stick in Dahlia Dew

Burt's Bees walmart.com
$9.43

THE DETAILS:

The brand describes the "flattering Dahlia Dew shade" as the "perfect blaze red tone that works with a range of skin tones," and I couldn't agree more. I was raving about this to my fellow beauty editor friend on the way to an event, and basically forced her to try it on her olive skin—it looked amazing. It's 100-percent natural, botanical oil-filled formula is so lightweight and blendable, hence why it complements an array of complexions.

WHY I'M OBSESSED:

Hand me a product that can actually do both—as in really looks just as good on more than one area of my face—and I'm impressed. My time is limited: Looking my best is important to me, but managing a crazy schedule isn't my strong-suit, so I need products that can cover double the ground for me—fast. This lip and cheek tint is a dream. I lather this mauvey berry shade on my lips, and it leaves behind a just-been-kissed hue on my deep skin tone. Then, I swipe this onto the apples of my cheeks, and use the warmth of my finger to blend it in for a healthy glow.
