Cara Delevingne is going to play the female lead in the adaptation of John Green's Paper Towns. Variety reported the news as an "in talks" sort of casting update, but Green himself confirmed it with in an ALL CAPS tweet and he should know, right?

If you haven't read the book — calm down, Nerdfighters — the story follows a young man named Q (to be played by Fault in Our Stars' Nat Wolff) as he tries to find his missing neighbor, Margo Roth Spiegelman. (That is the perfect name for a Cara Delevingne character.)

This is a major role for Cara, who has slowly been establishing herself as a Serious Actress. (She's going to play a mermaid in the new Peter Pan, too.) Whether Green's legions of fans will be happy with her casting remains to be seen, but they seem to be a congenial bunch, as rabid fan bases go, so they'll probably be fine with it. Who wouldn't want to look at Cara's eyebrows on a giant screen, anyway?
