Taylor Swift has briefly topped the Canadian iTunes chart with eight seconds of static noise.
The placeholder audio file for the third song of Swift's upcoming album was accidentally made available to purchase from the Canadian iTunes store.
Despite consisting of nothing more than a hissing noise, the audio file would briefly top the chart before being withdrawn from sale, reports The Independent.
It is likely most fans thought they were purchasing Swift's new single, 'Welcome to New York', which was released earlier this week.
Either that, or her fans are the most dedicated and loyal followers in the world.
Swift recently secured her second US number one single with 'Shake It Off'. The song peaked at two in the UK singles chart and at number one on iTunes.
Her new album, 1989, will be released on October 27.
