North West may be a a princess in creams now, decked out in designer clothes and sitting front row at fashion week with mother Kim Kardashian, but her days of being given everything are numbered. In an interview with ES Magazine, Kim Kardashian revealed her daughter will, in fact, "have to work for what she wants."
"I was saying that earlier to my friends, 'I wonder what [North's] first job is gonna be,'" she told the magazine. "And they were like, 'What? She's gonna have a job?' And I was like, 'Are you kidding me? Of course she is.'"
Naturally Kardashian isn't quite sure what North will do—"It's too early to tell"—but she has one guess. "She loves fashion. Maybe she'll be a designer," she suggested. (And given 1994 Kim's correct prediction of her own fame, this prophecy must be taken seriously.)
Kardashian's insistence on her daughter's working future comes from her own experience. "We didn't get anything [from our parents], we had to get a job if we wanted it," she said. "So I was working in a clothing store, and I would save and save."
Kim K's purchases back then were clothes, obviously: "I saved up for this Dolce & Gabbana dress I really wanted, or like in high school these Prada shoes that my parents wouldn't buy me. I remember they were $400, and I had to save for the entire year to get them." Well then, enjoy the freebies while they last, North.
