On Friday, nominations for the 2015 Grammys began trickling out little by little on Twitter, with only some of them having been announced as of this post. You will be shocked to learn that an up-and-coming musician named Beyoncé Knowles-Carter scored a nod for her album BEYONCÉ, which quietly appeared last December and garnered little notice from anyone. If you haven't heard it, maybe you should check it out. It's pretty good.
Anyway, this Grammy nomination is especially good news for young Beyoncé, because it means she now has the most Grammy nominations of any woman ever. She had previously been tied with the goddess Dolly Parton at 46 nominations each, but this new one put her over the edge to 47. And since the full list is still rolling out, she could feasibly earn a couple more before the end of the day. Congratulations, Bey!
Update: Beyoncé received two additional nominations for "Drunk in Love" (Best R&B Performance and Best R&B Song). The album also received a nomination for Best Surround Sound, and her On the Run HBO special received one for Best Music Film. The only Grammy category still unannounced is Album of the Year.
