Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom Wore Matching Tamagotchis to the Met Gala

Fun and fashionable.

Even though Katy Perry went to this year's Met Gala with her buddy Derek Blasberg, she and rumored boyfriend Orlando Bloom still managed to do something special together to celebrate the evening.

True to the exhibit's theme, "Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology," both decided to wear matching, white Tamagotchis—as in, those keychains everyone had in the '90s, where the entire premise was keeping a tiny digital pet alive.

Orlando had his hooked onto his jacket pocket, while Katy chose to keep it classic by hooking it onto her purse. ("That's my tech contribution," she said in a video interview.) Along with their matching pets, both Katy and Orlando wore Prada for the evening.

While not quite the same thing as actually going to the event as one another's dates, wearing matching Tamagotchis is basically the elementary school version of defining the relationship — so it's basically just as legitimate.
