How Did Brie Larson Stay In Character During This SNL Skit with Kate McKinnon??

Because we're dying laughing. 😂

Last night Brie Larson proved her improv chops as the host of SNL. Her most impressive work was during a skit called "Near-Death Experience" with Kate McKinnon and Cecily Strong—mostly because she was able to stay in character during McKinnon's hilarious performance.

The skit is about three women who were all dead for 55 minutes and miraculously came back to life. Both Larson and Strong's characters had beautiful experiences with gentle guardian angels carrying them up towards the light. McKinnon's character, however, didn't get such a smooth ride. Let's just say it involved a certain newbie angel named Keith, stretched-out sweat pants, and a rough transition back to her body:

Both Aidy Bryant and Bobby Moynihan played scientists investigating the women's experiences and it was clear they were trying the hardest to not laugh at McKinnon. Even McKinnon looks like she's about to let out a giggle at one point. But Larson was as straight-faced as a woman who well, had a near-death experience. The Oscar winner's performance is particularly impressive when you compare it to a similar skit from last year with Ryan Gosling. Unlike Larson, Gosling absolutely lost it.
