Like many of us, makeup artist Ciera Jewel was planning to rock her fave Jeffree Star highlighter to ring in the new year. But just as she reached the bottom of her Skin Frost pot, she found something that would make pretty much anyone gag: a piece of hair.
Eww. Needless to say, Ciera promptly reported the issue to Jeffree Star Cosmetics' customer service. Problem is, she didn't hear back right away.
So Ciera amplified her complaint on Instagram and Twitter. At that point, the company responded and offered Ciera a full refund. That didn't help her feel much better.
Turns out the drama was just beginning: Ciera's original photo tweet went viral. Jeffree blocked her. And Ciera continued to press the case, RTing outraged anti-Jeffree comments from her followers.
Jeffree then seemed to jump into the fray with a few tweets that many fans assumed were about Ciera.
He also replied to a fan who accused Ciera of buying a fake product on Twitter, which suggested that Jeffree doubted her story. This prompted Ciera to speak up and defend herself.
Jeffree tried to shut down the spat by recounting what went down behind the scenes.
Four days after the initial argument, however, the two continued to spar on Twitter, with Jeffree accusing Ciera of bullying him.
The fight ended with a block button.
Ciera claims she never intended to start a fight; she just wanted to raise awareness.
Either way, it's a v hairy sitch.
