Angelina Jolie's Son Maddox Spoke About Brad Pitt and Their Strained Relationship
Maddox was asked whether his relationship with Brad was over for good.

It's been less than a month since Angelina Jolie's oldest son Maddox Jolie-Pitt was dropped off at Yonsei University (opens in new tab) in Seoul, South Korea, and he's already done a street interview about his alleged strained relationship (opens in new tab) with his dad (and Jolie's ex-husband) Brad Pitt. InTouch (opens in new tab) obtained the video of Maddox tactfully answering two questions posed by a paparazzo.
Maddox was asked whether Pitt would be visiting him at college. “I don’t know about that, what’s happening,” he replied. The reporter then asked if his relationship with Pitt was over for good. “Whatever happens, happens," Maddox replied. The focus of the questions shifted to Maddox's new life in South Korea. Maddox said he was living in dorms and made it pretty clear he's academically-focused right now.
Us Weekly reported at the end of August (opens in new tab) that Maddox doesn't want to be close to Pitt. (Pitt reportedly got into an altercation with Maddox (opens in new tab) on a private plane in 2016; it was that incident that led Jolie to file for divorce.)
Us was told by a source that “Maddox doesn’t really see himself as Brad’s son.” A separate source described Maddox as having "some simmering resentment" toward Pitt, though attributed it partly to Maddox just being a teenager seeking independence. Maddox is said to be very close to his mother.
Pitt, Us was told by a source, hadn't lost hope on Maddox. "Brad’s hopeful that as his son gets older, they’ll become close again," the source said.
