Lizzo Has a Britney Spears Moment at the 2020 Grammys
Lizzo arrives to the Grammys in a white Versace dress, bringing to mind Britney Spears' 2000 gown.

- Lizzo arrived to the 2020 Grammy Awards in a snowy, white Versace look that was reminiscent of Britney Spears's ensemble at the 2000 ceremony.
- The rapper and singer is in the running for eight awards at this year's ceremony, and is also slated to perform.
It's Lizzo, bitch. Lizzo made a surprisingly early arrival to the 2020 Grammys tonight, turning heads in a glamorous white-on-white outfit. The ensemble, which consisted of a strapless white Versace gown, Lorraine Schwartz jewels, and a fluffy shawl, exuded an elegant Old Hollywood charm—and that's exactly what her stylist Marko Monroe was going for. Monroe told WWD's Booth Moore (opens in new tab) that the look was inspired by the likes of Marlene Dietrich, Madonna, and Whitney Houston.
Lizzo also unintentionally paid tribute to pop princess Britney Spears, who wore a similar white gown and shawl to the Grammy Awards exactly 20 years ago. The singer wore a white Randolph Duke dress and an Oscar de la Renta stole to the 2000s ceremony, where her single "... Baby One More Time" was nominated (opens in new tab) for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.
This is the first time Lizzo has been nominated at the ceremony, and she already picked up eight nods for her album Cuz I Love You and songs like "Truth Hurts." She's also in the running for the main four categories: Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best New Artist. Whether or not she goes home with a trophy, Lizzo is already dressed like a winner.
