Kate Middleton Borrowed From the Queen's Closet

And, apparently, the queen's closet is BLINGY.

Today, Kate Middleton made her first official appearance of the year at the Portrait Gala at the National Portrait Gallery in London. (She's already made an unofficial appearance in jeans, lugging baby George.) She chose a navy Jenny Packham gown that's both a people-pleaser (it's a repeat, and the public loves when Kate recycles outfits) and Queen-approved (its got a floor-sweeping hemline). And another part of Kate's ensemble that gets a thumbs up from the Queen? Her super-blingy necklace. The sparkly Nizam of Hyderabad diamond necklace comes from HRH herself, a gift she received on her wedding in 1947.
