Let's all breathe a collective sigh of relief. Gwen Stefani has finally confirmed that she's working on a solo record in addition to a new No Doubt album. What's more, is that Stefani is working on her follow-up to The Sweet Escape (2006) with longtime collaborator, Pharrell — on the heels of his smashingly successful year, no less. The two have been so hard at work that following Stefani's L.A.M.B. Spring 2015 presentation at New York Fashion Week, the two laid down tracks in the studio.
"I'm going into the studio tonight with Pharrell [Williams], I'm going to be writing and also just seeing what comes along my way," she told MTV at her presentation. "I've been recording a few things..."
If 2004, taught us anything, it's that everything Gwen and Pharrell touch turns to gold. You might recall one 'Hollaback Girl', which not only took the nation by storm, but single-handedly made b-a-n-a-n-a-s relevant again.
While we cool our heels waiting for Stefani's latest, we'll be watching her and Pharrell unleash their musical prowess on young hopefuls as co-hosts on The Voice, which premieres on September 22.
