Remember when Marilyn Monroe (opens in new tab) sang to President John F. Kennedy for his birthday? Probably not because you likely weren't alive, but it looked a little something like this:

As you can tell from this grainy video, Monroe looked completely stunning in her flesh-colored gown, which was designed by Jean Louis—an Academy Award winning costume artist. The iconic dress (which Monroe is said to have been sewed into) just sold at Julien's Auctions (opens in new tab) for a whopping $4.8 million, with a winning bid from Ripley's Believe it or Not.
