The 'Stranger Things' Audition Tapes Will Honestly Make Your Day

Look at how young they were!

It's been almost a week since the long-awaited premiere of Stranger Things 2, but many of us might have already binged the entire new season and are patiently waiting for the next. One thing to keep you entertained during the excruciating wait? Watching the gang's audition videos.

Beyond Stranger Things, a spinoff Netflix show featuring behind-the-scenes footage and interviews with the cast, aired the kids' audition tapes in its first episode. The reel shows Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven), Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler), Noah Schnapp (Will Byers), Caleb McLoughlin (Lucas Sinclair), and Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin Henderson) ranging from ages 10 to 13 years old, performing scenes from what ultimately became the show's first season.

The videos show not only how little the stars used to be (they're 13–16 years old now), but also how talented they were at such a young age. Brown sobs in an emotional Eleven scene, Schnapp portrays Will's struggle with being "weird," and Wolfhard nails a confrontation scene with Nancy (which he filmed with an iPhone while sick in bed).

Brown and Wolfhard watched along in pure horror and delivered priceless commentary. "Look how depressed I look!" she chuckled. He responded, "You look like Susan Sarandon." Seriously, their reactions were perfect:
