About: A pianist who pretends to be blind has his life turned completely upside down by a crime he did not witness. Equal parts charming and intense.
2. 'Badhaai Ho'

Starring: Ayushmann Khurrana, Neena Gupta, Gajraj Rao, Surekha Sikri, and Sanya Malhotra
About: A 25-year-old man struggles to control his embarrassment when his mother announces she's pregnant. Comedy ensues.
3. 'Zero'
Release date: December 21, 2018
Starring: Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma, and Katrina Kaif
About: A short bachelor who is looking for love in a big way meets two very different women who end up helping him find purpose in life.
4. 'Padmaavat'
Release date: January 25, 2018
Starring: Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor, and Ranveer Singh
About: This epic drama, set in medieval India, tells the story of Queen Padmavati, who is known for her beauty and sense of justice. Word of Padmavati's looks spreads and eventually starts a war. Some viewers have criticized the storyline as regressive, but the visuals are definitely worth heavy praise.
5. 'Pad Man'

About: Lakshmi, a newly-married welder, causes an upset when he sets out to revolutionize the manufacturing of pads for women. Um, a movie about menstrual equity? Where do we get tickets?

About: A woman with Tourette's syndrome gets a job as a teacher at an elite school and tries to help her students students reach their full potential.
7. 'Baaghi 2'

Starring: Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani
About: This thriller follows an army man who goes up against drug lords and Russian bad guys to save the daughter of an ex-lover. So, think: Taken in Goa.
8. 'Blackmail'

Starring: Irrfan Khan, Kirti Kulhari, Divya Dutta, Arunoday Singh, and Omi Vaidya
About: Get ready for drama with this thriller about a man who secretly blackmails his wife and her lover when he discovers their affair.
9. 'October'

Starring: Varun Dhawan, Banita Sandhu, and Gitanjali Rao
About: The story follows co-workers Dan and Shiuli. Dan is the carefree type; Shiuli is very responsible. When Dan is a no-show at a work event, Shiuli goes looking for him and tragically falls from a terrace during her search. She's hospitalized and comatose and Dan starts visiting her regularly, eventually developing feelings for her and dedicating himself to caring for her as she recovers. Warning: The ending is tear-inducing.
10. 'Raazi'

Starring: Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Rajit Kapur, Shishir Sharma, and Jaideep Ahlawat
About: This period thriller inspired by a true story follows Sehmat, an Indian spy married to a Pakistani man during the 1971 India-Pakistan war. Fine, until she falls in love with him.
11. 'Veere Di Wedding'

About: This female-driven buddy comedy, follows four best friends who reunite after ten years apart as they work through their issues with family, marriage, feminism, and traditions.
